In-depth course Diving Medicine in Case Studies

"Diving Medicine in case studies" will be the 22nd Scott Haldane in-depth course on diving medicine, focusing on seven key areas using case studies to discuss the International guidelines appropriate to each one.
All participants will actively contribute by presenting case histories related to one of the seven areas covered in this course. The submitted case histories may, within the themes, focus both on diving accidents and / or treatment thereof, as well on the diving medicine examination situation. Diving medical experts will guide and complement these presentations. At the conclusion of each theme, they will relate the findings to the current dive medical guidelines.

The Scott Haldane Foundation (SHF) has established an internationally accredited training program that fulfills all the requirements of the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM). This course is part of the internationally recognized certification for Diving Medicine Physicians, and is accredited for Continuous Medical Education (CME) for Diving Medicine Physicians and the Medical Examiners of Divers by the European College of Baromedicine (ECB). Each participant will be asked in advance to submit a case that falls within one of the above themes. The case may relate to the medical examination of divers, diving accidents or treatment of a diving accident.
The case will be presented by the author after which it will be discussed in small groups. After discussion of the cases, the experts will summarize the cases, comparing solutions to the applicable international guidelines.
